We currently have a great opportunity available as our Conference and Banqueting Operations Assistant to join our operational Events team.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Setting up function rooms to hotel standards
  • Polishing glassware and cutlery
  • Stocking the hot and cold buffets
  • Taking food and drink orders
  • Serving and clearing tables
  • Cleaning and stocking the function rooms and equipment
  • Having complete knowledge of the menus, wines and specialities offered on the day and to be able to advise guests as necessary
  • Dealing with all guest comments or complaints and to pass on any relevant information to the Supervisor or Manager
  • Acting in a polite & courteous manner to all guests in the hotel at all times
  • Adhering to Customer Service essentials
  • Ensuring all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner
  • Ensuring that any wastage is recorded in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Ensuring daily requisitions of all necessary supplies are completed in line with hotel procedures and managing the liquor inventory
  • Working as a team ensuring the C&B function operates in accordance to brand standards
  • Being compliant with food safety, health and safety and licensing law regulations
  • Upselling food and drinks
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as deemed appropriate

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Handling, carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds / 23 kg (bar ware, crates, boxes, bottles etc.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Previous hospitality experience desirable
