We operate six health and leisure centres across the town including Inspire: Luton Sports Village with its 50m swimming pool and Olympic diving facilities, Lea Manor Recreation Centre, Lewsey Sports Park and Pool, Stockwood Park Athletics Centre, Stockwood Park Golf Centre and Hightown Community Sports and Arts Centre. We also operate Dell Farm Education Centre – a unique day and residential education centre offering inspirational outdoor learning experiences for school children, set in 23 acres of land near Whipsnade Zoo.

About the job
Due to growth in the work of the Health and Wellbeing Team for the new integrated wellbeing service (Total Wellbeing) there is an opportunity for a motivated, reliable and innovative individual with appropriate qualifications, skills and experience to lead in the delivery and development of programmes with a focus on smoking cessation in Pregnancy and Young Families.
The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate and work with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver 1:1 and group based programmes providing advice, treatment and motivational support to a range of people encouraging behaviour change; however they will also take on additional areas of responsibility and delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives within Active Luton.
The successful candidate will contribute to the formation and implementation of Active Luton’s Delivery Plan through the development and delivery of Health and Wellbeing strategies and action plans that increase participation in sport and physical activity at all levels and meets the needs of the community.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the community wellbeing strategy through the signposting of service users to additional programmes as part of the holistic approach of Total Wellbeing.
This post will involve delivering programmes at a variety of community and educational locations across Luton.
Salary: £19,819 - £21,693 per annum
37 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends.
