About us

Walk the length of George Street from our sister property and you’ll come to The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square. The hotel is one of several smart addresses on a UNESCO World Heritage site comprising seven, inter-connecting townhouses, as well as a purpose-built block of bedrooms. The hotel has recently been refurbished from top to toe, to designs by the award-winning team at Goddard Littlefair. In addition to 199 guest rooms and suites, the hotel has refurbished dining and event space; The SPA at Principal, utilising both Oskia and Ishga brands; The Garden, a glazed courtyard serving a light menu of all-day food, afternoon tea and evening cocktails; and Baba, a Levantine-influenced restaurant.

Your day to day

• Supplying the highest possible levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or back of house areas. • Ensure the smooth service of beverages & food to customers. • To upsell at every opportunity and increase the sales in the department by doing so. • To deliver exceptional levels of service to all guests in the hotel. • To make sure that any guest complaints are dealt with immediately and passed on to the most senior person in the department or the duty manager . • Ensure food and beverages are served efficiently and to the set standards, not forgetting the service of accompaniments etc. • To keep the service areas fully stocked with mis en place. • Ensure that mis en place is done before and after service. • Complete cleaning tasks as specified on the cleaning rota. • Lay the bar tables to the set standard . • Work in the Restaurant when required • Attend meetings, training sessions and other such events when requested by your Manager / Supervisor. • To comply with Health & Safety Legislation and keep up to date with your Inspire online training • To comply with Licensing laws and never break any of the regulations/standards.
