About the role:

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Social Media Planner to join our Marketing team at George. You will be responsible for briefing and executing social content for fashion, home, General Merchandise, and topical campaigns and events. You’ll ensure all posts are aligned to business priorities and are on brand and ladder up to the guide lines for paid and owned activity.

The ins & outs:
  • Working across both the fashion and home teams, create and update the content plan on a weekly basis to ensure all social media (paid and organic) activity is planned in a timely manner and consistent with brand guidelines
  • Manage the critical paths for social media – ensuring they are up to date, relevant and aligned to the total brand communications team critical paths and managing the agency to deliver against our timelines
  • Manage both the planning and execution of our George social media platforms (Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube), working cross functionally with our content teams, activity planning teams and creative agencies to deliver relevant and timely organic and paid social content
  • Work closely with the content teams across marketing and dot.com to ensure all social requirements are fed in to shoots/production for both fashion and home to ensure efficiencies in the creation of content for social media channels
  • Support content managers to deliver all campaign led paid social activity, working with the trading teams to ensure product is live on george.com and posts click through to correct content at all times
  • Distribute the weekly reporting dashboard to key stakeholders and create an action focused commentary, which is presented in weekly sales and marketing meetings with the dot.com teams
  • Create a quarterly reporting pack which summarises key performance metrics, learnings and successes
  • Provide regular online competitor analysis – detailing their current promotions, weekly run down of competitors online and how social media activity aligns with competitor email activity
  • Work with the social media platforms to keep up to speed with current trends and best practice execution and keep up to date with current digital trends and generate ideas
  • Support fashion Content Managers with overall content production as and when needed

  • What you’ll need:
  • A proven track record in a similar role
  • Creatively minded
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to drive meaningful actions from large data sets
  • Proficiency in MS Office - especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • An organised individual with great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and presenter
  • A self-motivated individual; a good team player
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Passionate about current affairs, fashion, home and actively on social media for personal use
  • Experience of working in a digital marketing environment, or your studies to have included an extensive digital marketing module would be an advantage
