Senior Portfolio Analyst - Shore Based - Southampton

Carnival UK has big plans for the future! Already the market leader, CUK (which operates the P&O Cruises and Cunard Brands) will grow by 50% by 2022 as we add new ships to the fleet and further transform the industry by making cruising a mainstream holiday for UK guests.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable Senior Portfolio Analyst to help deliver even better holidays for customers of our leading travel brands, from within our growing PMO team.

We are looking for a fantastic PMO professional to work within a strategic programme delivering all of the technology onboard our next new ship. You’ll be passionate about providing assurance that programme management, governance processes and documentation are designed, implemented and operated in an effective manner from mobilisation to programme maturity.

The Role

We are currently recruiting a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join the PMO team on permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and professional PMO or Programme Support specialist to come aboard and join a team of supportive experts at a particularly exciting time!

As a Senior Portfolio Analyst supporting the new build team, you will have responsibility for designing and producing key programme management and governance processes and documentation to ensure that the programme and projects operate efficiently and effectively within the agreed governance framework. You will communicate the framework and controls both internally and to third parties to ensure alignment is maintained. You will also review and assure project and programme management deliverables, including reports and other scheduled outputs for governing bodies. As required, the role will facilitate and support workshops or other meetings and the operation of the programme management teams in order to achieve governance and programme management outcomes.

The role requires someone who can demonstrate leadership and is comfortable working at all levels to senior management but also has a hands-on approach to getting the job done when required.

Please see the job description attached for more details.

About You

We expect you to have already gained experience by delivering technology projects or have  proven success at supporting complex programmes in a governance role. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of designing and implementing project control processes and of assuring project management deliverables.

Our new build programme is a large complex programme that is currently mobilising and you will need to maintain a flexible and pragmatic approach. You will need to demonstrate individual initiative whilst working within a complex matrix team environment and will need to be comfortable working with uncertainty but also focus on the rigour of governance required of a major programme of work.

You will have strong communication and relationship building abilities in order to balance diplomacy with assertiveness and be able to work collaboratively with a wide range of business functions at all levels. You will be very good at prioritising competing demands and pride yourself on being a reliable member of the team. You will have a great eye for detail that others might miss and be expert in programme planning and reporting. You will also be comfortable working in a technical environment.

Additionally, you will be experienced in use of Microsoft packages, including MS Project and have expert Excel skills.
