International Host/ess (French and Spanish speaking) - Fleet - Ship Based

We are currently recruiting for our Talent Pools to fill anticipated roles in 2018 and beyond. Please note that throughout the Recruitment & On boarding process you may not be advised of a start date. If you are successful, sufficient notice will be provided when we have a ship and start date for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Tri-Lingual International Host/ess on board our ships. Join us and you will discover that working at sea is more than just a job. It is a way of life. We are looking for people who have a real passion for guest experience and who love going the extra mile. You will visit different places, explore new worlds and gain experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.

As a market leader in the cruise industry, we operate spectacular ships all over the world. One of the main attractions for our guests is our White Star Service. The International Host/ess works across departments on board and you will be the one ensuring we provide exceptional service for our International guests.

In the role of International Host/ess, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and hosting events on board to our international guests in English, French and Spanish

  • Written and verbal translation of Menus, daily programmes and announcements

  • Working with all departments to ensure our International guests including the medical department

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with guests

  • Escort International guests on tours and provide translation.

As a Host of large groups, ideally we would love it if you had experience of presenting or hosting in English, French and Spanish. Experience of translating documents would also be advantageous. However, we believe in hiring people with the right attitudes and strengths over their competencies.

In this high profile, customer-facing role, you will have a big part to play in executing complex daily translations on board. Therefore, you will need to be naturally organised and good at prioritising; additionally you will love delivering great service to guests and get a thrill out of making people happy. Working with large groups of people, your role will be exciting and varied. Having a ‘can do’ attitude will help you manage your time. The entertainment department on board is diverse. Therefore, your ability to express yourself clearly and keeping others in the loop will ensure that you share information clearly and accurately. Changing itineraries and guest requests are frequent occurrences on a cruise ship and they can affect your work significantly. The fact you can naturally calmly juggle priorities and adapt to change will make any changing circumstances run smoothly.

If you are a team player with the drive and determination to develop your career with a world-leading ship’s company that comprises the prestigious P&O Cruises and Cunard Line brands, join us on our journey. Life on board involves working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week for the time that you are on board.
