Our Corporate Shipbuilding team is responsible for the major task of overseeing all aspects of the company’s new build projects. Managing the process, co-ordinating the specifications and design approval for every part of each new build are key activities in this team.  

The Hotel Outfitting Inspector will play a pivotal role in the production and delivery of the new vessels, they will work as part of an organised site team located at the various shipyards or alternative construction site subcontracted by the shipyard.

The Inspector reports to the Building Manager

Responsibilities

The Inspector is required to provide on-site supervision of all matters relating to pre-outfitting, including insulation, floor, wall and deck coverings, architectural decors of crew and passenger accommodation areas, glassing, furniture, artwork in areas, including but not limited to, of cabins, public rooms, corridors, passenger and crew open decks, catering areas, laundries, stores & lockers and service areas.

The Inspector will ensure that the installations and all materials used are in compliance with the specification and architectural design, of a suitable quality fit for its intended use, approved by class (if required), and comply with the agreed samples made available from the approval process.

They are required to work closely together with the Owners architect(s) performing joint visits, discussions and resolving issues, providing regular updates to ensure the installation and finishing will meet the design intent and Owners expectation.

For any inspection and or part of inspection that falls outside of their expertise and or experience, they will seek the assistance from the other inspectors to provide them with all the necessary information and or support so as to be able to achieve that standard that is required as per the architectural design intent and or specification.

Experience

Experience is required working in a similar role for subcontractors, shipyard, material supplier, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
