Job Title: Ecommerce Content Assistant – George.com
Team: George.com
Working Location: Asda House Leeds
George.com is an integral part of the wider George growth strategy. We are one of the top clothing retailers in the UK and our homeware brand is going from strength to strength. As the ecommerce landscape continuously shifts, we must adapt alongside it and this makes for a dynamic, innovative and fast-paced working environment. We are now looking for an innovative and customer-focused individual to join our newly formed Online Content Team.
Without content, our website would not exist. This role is crucial to the success of our website and will predominantly focus upon ensuring all General Merchandise product launches on George.com to a world class standard every time, delivering an optimal customer shopping experience. We launch thousands of our own-brand and suppliers’ products every year on George.com. This role will see you following multiple critical paths at any one given time, liaising with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
As part of the GM Content Team in George.com, you will work to deliver the following:
  • Build and publish all new general merchandise products to the website, in line with the dot com trading strategy, using various CMS platforms
  • Manage the process of GM range launches across the site, following multiple critical paths and communicating the status to the wider business
  • Work with the buying and technology teams to obtain the product information required to display on George.com
  • Similarly, regularly liaise with suppliers to obtain all product content and images required for the website
  • Meet website CPS and CSAT targets by ensuring all relevant product information is available to the customer to stimulate purchase
  • Likewise, seek to decrease bounce rate by owning and constantly seeking to improve the website PDP’s (product details pages)
  • Using your keen eye for detail and accuracy to proof read and sign off product content, keeping the customer at the forefront of your mind and challenging where necessary
  • Investigate customer reviews, Q+A’s and contact centre queries, taking actionable insights to future-proof the shopping experience for our customers
  • Conduct regular site audits and proactively seek out improvements to enhance the customer shopping experience on George.com and optimise content
  • Become an expert in online content and how content requirements differ across the various categories we trade within - making recommendations where necessary to optimise the site
  • Ensure our products are available to purchase, working with supply and trading colleagues to ensure all in stock products are online and visible to the customer
  • Have an understanding of attributes, categorisation, taxonomy, navigation and filters and how these affect the customer journey when shopping online
  • Work closely with the Online Traders and Website Merchandisers to deliver the overall dot com strategy and improve the website shopping experience overall
  • What you need:
Whilst it would be beneficial, experience in a similar role is not essential and full training will be provided. You don’t need to be a technical expert - we’re more interested in your passion to deliver the very best for our customer. Some key skills you’ll require:
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, coupled with the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to prioritise and follow multiple critical paths at any one time, working to deadlines
  • Be a team player, sharing and encouraging best practice
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • An innovative, forward-thinker, confident communicating new ideas to the wider team
  • A passion for online/digital ecommerce with experience working in a retail environment
  • A passion for delivering the very best to our customers
  • Experience working with CMS platforms would be beneficial but not essential
