As households around the country tighten their belts and try to make money stretch a bit further, it’s important we do everything we can to help out. You’ll help us achieve ‘every day low cost’ by making sure all colleagues stick to our financial and payroll controls. And that our company assets are always protected. By doing this with accuracy, advanced numeracy and to tight deadlines you won’t just add value to the team in your store or depot; you’ll pass on great value to our customers nationwide too. Customer service is extremely important at Asda - it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we deliver warm and friendly service to our customers at all times. Every customer expects to receive great service at Asda and subsequently, whenever you’re on the shop floor or on the phone we expect you to give great service to them - customers are at the heart of our business, without them, we have no business!

Everyday matters

We’re proud of our warm and friendly service. It’s what our customers love and have come to expect. So we’ll always expect you to:
  • Keep the Purchase Order Log and Invoicing System accurate and updated
  • Make sure Purchase Ledger controls are maintained
  • Make sure transactions are processed in line with company accounting standards
  • Manage all the daily petty cash, files and processes
  • Process all payroll information accurately
  • Support the team with weekly and monthly reporting and variance analysis
  • Help to provide financial and statistical information to colleagues in all teams
  • Keep general administration up to date so that our department is always clean, tidy and working efficiently

    The role of the People Clerk in Asda is very important as it ensures: - all our store colleagues get paid correctly - we maintain accuracy of people systems - we support colleagues with queries relating to pay and benefits. Whilst your role in the People Office is predominantly non-customer facing, some tasks, such as answering the phone or collecting paperwork, will require you to go onto the shop floor where your customers are.
