Job Description

Pint Shop is an award-winning bar & dining room. Our bar serves modern British beer, 100 gins & 100 whiskies alongside awesome bar snacks; think hot Scotch eggs and cured meats. Our dining rooms serve very simple, seasonal & British ingredients cooked over charcoal.

Pint Shop opened five years ago in Cambridge and has been a huge success. We opened our second Beer house in Oxford in September 2016. Now we will be bringing Pint Shop to Birmingham in October 2018.

The Role 

We are looking for a seriously talented Sous Chef to join our Cambridge team. Someone with the personality and desire to continue building the success of the Cambridge kitchen with the Head Chef and play an integral part in continuing to create a food mecca in Birmingham for simple, honest cooking.

Reporting into the Head Chef but also working closely with the GM, the Sous Chef will assume operational responsibility of the kitchen, in partnership with the Head Chef.

Above all else, the Sous Chef must work in partnership to create amazing food for customers, an awesome place for their team to work, incredible gross profit and industry leading standards for cleanliness and food hygiene.

We are looking for someone who has an eye for talent, who can help hire the right people. Someone who has a passion for sharing knowledge, and whose team can deliver the best food, drink and service, at this price point, in the industry.

The Experience

We’re pretty open-minded when it comes to experience. However, as a guide we’ll be looking for some of the following;

• At least one years Junior/ Sous Chef experience in a high volume, high quality pub or restaurant,
• Experience of working in a small and highly ambitious business
• Experience of working in a winning team
• Has been involved in new openings
• Has worked under inspiring head chefs in renowned kitchens
• Can clearly demonstrate past success & loyalty in everything they have done
• Past evidence of devising and writing clear plans/ systems and delivering them
