Marketing Manager - Merthyr Tydfil

Responsible To: Business Development and Finance Manager 

Hours: Full Time (37 Hours)

Salary: Negotiable, Circa £26,000

Primary Purpose:

The Marketing Manager will bring the new Wellbeing @ Merthyr brand to life with engaging campaigns that connect the customer with our vision. The manager will lead the marketing strategy for Wellbeing @ Merthyr and will collaborate closely with the venues to coordinate all marketing activity, to ensure a consistent approach across to the promotion of W@M across the whole business.

The Manager is responsible for developing new customer and audiences, for generating revenue, and for building the W@M reputation locally, nationally and internationally.   This will be achieved through a mix of customer insight, brand development, customer relationship management, digital innovation and bold, intelligent campaign activity. .

Specialist Accountabilities:

  1. Develop and implement an innovative, creative and eye-catching marketing campaign to support all W@M programmes, events and activities ;
  2. Act as brand guardian, ensuring all communications created for W@M adhere to the brand, supporting W@M overarching marketing initiatives and contribute to projects across the businesses programme as appropriate Brand messaging ;
  3. To be responsible for the messaging of W@M agreeing key selling points and customers/audiences with venue managers, briefing copywriters and designers as appropriate ;
  4. Ensure all copy abides by the W@M copywriting and style guidelines  and to ensure that all third party and external promoter communications adhere to relevant W@M brand guidelines ;
  5. Seek the input of managers and other stakeholders to feed into campaign planning process ;
  6. Create well-considered design briefs external editors and copywriters and in-house/external designers in preparing copy and images for events, and write excellent copy for emails, press, print and advertising, and oversee the creation of print including the briefing of the external agencies ;
  7. Manage all regular email communications to support W@M activity, delegating copywriting and content co-ordination to the assistant as appropriate and ensuring accuracy and compliance with style, tone and brand guidelines ;
  8. Develop Digital Marketing content for W@M digital platforms, including the promotion of online content to deepen customer/audiences’ engagement with the W@M programme and the Park in particular ;
  9. Develop Digital Marketing campaigns to target specific audiences online including display advertising, search engine marketing, social media marketing ;
  10. Identify and develop partnership opportunities including sales promotions and third party activity, with the ability to drill-down research to identify new niche customers/audiences ;
  11. Taking a lead in agreeing and delivering marketing benefits, advising on issues such as data-sharing, brand and style compliance and ensure that, where possible, their marketing activities support the W@M overarching marketing objectives ;
  12. Brief and direct external suppliers (freelancers, copywriters, designers editors etc.), ensuring they deliver the best quality work, delivered to schedule ;
  13. To deliver excellent customer service in line with the Trust’s vision and contribute to research projects and post campaign evaluation using Vital Statistics and other reporting packages ;
  14. Ensure all appropriate commercial messages are integrated into marketing communications to present a holistic view of the W@M offer and to drive revenue, specifically development programmes and the W@M retail and catering offer ;
  15. To act as an ambassador of the Trust and act accordingly and to partner with support function colleagues to develop venue specific plans, in order to aid success ;
  16. To ensure a safe and positive working environment through regular monitoring and auditing of health & safety practices and providing ownership of this for the area. ;
  17. To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
