Café Royal, part of the Sir John Fitzgerald Family, is a contemporary and stylish city centre Café- Bistro. Home to the Café Royal bakery, Café Royal offers unbeatable coffee in addition to a fantastic food menu, freshly prepared by our talented team of chefs from Breakfast through to late afternoon.

We are currently seeking a Sous Chef to join our successful kitchen team.

Reporting to the Head Chef your responsibilities will include:

• Producing first class food, using fresh ingredients giving maximum quality and yield.
• Ensuring the kitchen team is giving an efficient, smooth and quick service while maintaining principles and standards set by the Company.
• Taking responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
• Stock control
• Assisting with recruitment, training and discipline within the department in conjunction with the Head Chef.
• Ensuring that all sections are manned efficiently and that the Chefs de Partie, Commis Chefs & Kitchen Porters are working to the best of their ability.
• Maintaining a High Level of Cleanliness and adhering to food hygiene legislation at all times.

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, a team player and able to handle the pressures of a busy kitchen environment.

Experience of working in a busy food led operation is preferable.
