Experience:
  • Previous experience working within a hotel housekeeping role
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
    • Attention to Detail
    • Pro-active and reliable
    • Able to work alone and within a team
  • Education or Certification:
    • Good level of English essential
    Specific Duties:

    • To supply the highest possible levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the back of house areas.
    • To sort, count and bag all linen leaving and entering the hotel, including all hired uniforms.
    • Issue and control linen to various departments and report any abuse immediately.
    • Ensure all hotel linen is laundered to the high standard required, as laid down in the SOP manual.
    • Ensure all hired linen is tightly controlled and records are kept up to date. Reporting all shortages immediately.
    • Ensure all lost property is handed to the Housekeeper immediately.
    • To have a full working knowledge of all equipment relevant to the laundry and ensure all staff are also fully conversant.
    • To have full working knowledge of all cleaning chemicals relevant to the laundry and ensure all staff are also fully conversant.
    • Be aware of all material and household expenditure and encourage staff to avoid unnecessary waste in line with budgeted targets.
    • Have a full working knowledge of all areas of the linen room.
    • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene with particular attention to hands, hair, fingernails, and general appearance.
    • Ensure stock takes are done on all linen and records are kept up to date.
    • To operate the washing machine for small items e.g. robes, facecloths etc.
    • To maintain strict security precautions to safeguard all master and sub master keys, linen and equipment and inform the Head Housekeeper immediately of any breakages or shortages found.
    • Promote good inter staff relations at all times.
    • To carry out small repairs to uniforms and hotel items as requested by the Housekeeper.
    • Observe all company rules and regulations as per staff handbook
    • To attend meetings and training courses as requested.
    • To be fully aware of the Hotels Accident Report Procedure, Maintenance Fault Reporting Procedure and Fire Policy for your department
    • To understand how the hotel Health and safety Policy affects your department and how it links in with the rest of the hotel.
    • To carry out room attendant duties as requested by the Housekeeper.
