About the role…

With vibrancy and business focus, you will drive the Health & Safety agenda across the Group.  Managing our external Health & Safety service providers, you will ensure that all sites have the right systems to ensure safe practices that also support the needs of the business.

In a business that has grown successfully by acquisition, you will be a change advocate, bringing consistency and improvement to how sites manage Health & Safety. You will ensure that the tools are available so that sites meet their statutory and legal obligations, whilst also coaching and supporting our managers.

You will work in partnership with our key personnel such as Property Management, Facilities, HR/ Training, Healthcare Managers, Catering and our external support services to ensure all areas of our business are effectively managed and Health & Safety standards are maintained.     

Championing Health & Safety, influencing our leadership team and owners, you will develop our systems for reporting and drive compliance and proactivity at site level.     

About you…

Continually enhancing our wider approach to Health & Safety as a business, you will also be comfortable responding to and dealing with specific priorities when the need arises. You will be highly organised, with well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply discretion and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters.  As this a national role, you will have the flexibility to travel frequently.

Due to the multi-industry nature of our business, you will have knowledge of statutory and legal obligations across Hospitality, Leisure and Healthcare industries.

As the role will cover many Food & Beverage outlets a qualification in Food Safety Level 3 or 4 would be desirable. The role will require frequent travel to our Head office in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

It is essential that you have experience within a similar role, a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent will also be required.
