Food and Beverage Team Leader - The Coniston Hotel

Reporting to: Food and Beverage Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

The role of Food and Beverage Team Leader will involve leading the food and beverage team alongside the supervisory and management team on a day to day basis and developing this team to ensure that we regularly exceed guest expectations. The role will mean working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager on such things as staff training and development, customer feedback, the day to day organization of the department, and managing guest satisfaction levels.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The day-to-day

  • To work within all areas of the food and beverage and take ownership of different departments when asked to do so. 
  • To take responsibility for the performance of members of your team and ensure they are supervised and provided with the correct levels of guidance at all times.
  • Report any issues with staff performance/behaviour to management and handle professionally in the first instance before handing over.
  • Operating and cashing up tills. 
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness and organisation of the food and beverage environment alongside managers & supervisors. 
  • To work closely with the management team in dealing with any unhappy customers in order to repair and re build guest relationships. 
  • Use your experience to provide training for the less experienced members of the team when asked to by the management team. 
  • Show flexibility by moving between departments on a daily basis.
  • Take a keen interest in product development and product knowledge particularly regarding the food offering and drinks menus and share your knowledge with the team where possible.
  • Offer suggestions to management for continuous improvement throughout the department.
  • Remain professional & presentable at all times and in line with the staff code of conduct. 

Hours 

  • 40-50 Hours over 5 days including bank holidays and weekends.
  • 28 days holiday per annum.
  • Competitive rate of pay.

Experience

  • Experience in a Team Leader role within a four star hotel environment is preferred but not essential. 
  • Minimum of three years industry experience is essential.
