Christmas Sales & Events Manager - Edinburgh

Reporting to: Area sales Manager / General Manager

Responsible for: Driving Sales and Pre-Booked business for Xmas, running the days in December efficiently and effectively  

Role Purpose:

  • To drive in sales for Xmas bookings.  Ensure targets are met and the events are run efficiently to maximise sales
  • Develop marketing and sales strategies to promote Xmas and generate incremental sales.
  • Promote Christmas to new and existing clients using existing database and pursuing new potential clients.
  • Increasing awareness of the venue private hire and corporate events using contacts and networking in order to gain market share from competitors
  • Generate new sales leads and follow through to proposal stage
  • Convert potential sales leads to confirmed events
  • Ensure that tactics and plans are delivered on time and that budgeted revenues are achieved and exceeded
  • Establish and grow customer and client database and use subsequent data for effective tactical and strategic marketing.
  • Contribute to and attend weekly company Sales and Events and Customer Service meetings and provide management information and customer feedback data, upon which to make sound business decisions.
  • Establish contact with both new and former clients to generate new income streams and convert.
  • Attend related off-site / client meetings as required
  • Attend networking events proactively to build awareness of Xmas
  • Ensure that all incoming enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally and deliver a high level of conversion from enquiry to firm booking.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are clearly communicated to relevant departments, to ensure that our customer experience is exceptional.
  •  Hosting during December to ensure guests can meet you as the organizer, and the dinners/drinks parties are run efficiently

Essential Skills and Experiences

  • Experience of proactively seeking out new sales opportunities,
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience of networking and proactive formation of client relationships.
  • Experience in the supervision, administration and organisation of events.
  • Strong hospitality background with significant operational and sales experience at senior level.
  • Aptitude for multitasking and able to manage a number of activities at the same time.
  • Evidence of significant income generation.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Have a positive and adaptable approach to problem solving.
  • Be flexible with working hours.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team or on an individual basis.
  • Smart appearance and good presentation.
  • Have an eye for detail.
  • Excellent written, telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Bookit, open table & design my night.

  • Graduate Level (min Hons 2.1) or equivalent within business management ( Desirable )
