Commercial Finance Business Partner – Home Office Costs
About the role:
Asda has a number of central ‘Home Offices’ across the country. This role acts as financial support to these offices. It has particular focus on colleague related spend, but covers all aspects of Head Office costs.
This role is a good opportunity to experience a different aspect to the Asda business and how it operates. It is well suited to a Finance Manager with previous experience of cost management and business partnering.
The role includes plan setting, providing commercial challenge and insight on colleague related spend to ensure we keep the business on track to deliver overhead costs. In addition to this responsibility the role also has responsibility for acting as a business partner to the People and Finance teams for Head Office costs.
The Ins and Outs:
Primarily responsible for managing all colleague cost lines including:
  • Driving delivery of the financial plan with direct HR and Finance customers and indirectly through other Finance teams
  • Providing guidance to help mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
  • Ownership of the overall Head Office annual cost plan and monthly forecasts
  • Ownership of the detailed annual Head Office Financial Plans
  • Review, challenge and influence business cases for Head Office investments
  • Strengthen performance management across the HR KRA’s through improved financial control, insight and analysis
  • Develop continuous improvement in Home office cost area, with particular emphasis on aligning with other Employment Cost Managers in Finance (Asda Technology, Retail, Asda Logistics Services and Global Business Services)


  • What you’ll need:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Confident and pro-active with the ability to challenge stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness
  • An ability to influence at a senior level
