Stadium Tour Guide - The London Stadium, Stratford

Employer
Delaware North
Location
E20 2ST, London Stadium, Stratford
Salary
Up to £9.45 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Closing date

You love to engage with people and create memorable experiences for guests. You are driven, passionate and engaged with making a visitor attraction the best it can be, because you are always ‘leading the way’.

This is you, and we need you to be the face of our company, to always put yourself on the line to ensure that the smiles stay firmly on the visitors faces. You will work hard and fast because you take pride in your company as they do you! If you want to be part of a team which is leading the way and is constantly setting trends then get in touch!

The London Stadium has quickly established itself as a destination venue that is already steeped in history, and since the spectacular London 2012 Olympics it has welcomed concert goers, rugby fans, athletics fans and West Ham's loyal following. 2019 will see London Stadium play host to Major League Baseball for the first time ever in Europe. The tour highlights include a visit to the home changing room, indoor running track, walking the players tunnel and panoramic views into the stadium.

The Tour currently operates as multi-media tour, either self-guided or with a tour guide depending on the time of year and the stadium operations. There is also the option for a private VIP Tour or Legends tour for those wanting a more in depth and personalised experience.

We are looking for Tour Guides to join our current team. Tour Guides will also form a part of the Tour Experience Maker team who deliver the self-guided multi-media tour. Private Tour Guides give a more personalised tour to groups around the venue and should be able to confidently communicate with groups of up to 30 visitors. The role of a Tour Experience Maker is to meet and greet customers arriving for tours, when required sell tour tickets, distribute audio handsets used on the tour, take and sell commercial photo opportunities and be positioned around the tour for interaction and information.

These roles are offered on a flexible hourly basis with no guaranteed hours, with the tour open 7 days a week including West Ham event days, so there is plenty of opportunity for work. Rates of pay start from £8.40 for training shifts, rising to £9.45 for our Tour Experience Makers Our Tour Guides are paid per tour hosted, at a rate of £24.

The ideal candidate will be a confident public speaker with the ability to absorb knowledge and reiterate to visiting guests in an attention-grabbing manner, is passionate about customer service and well organised, and preferably will have some experience as a Tour Guide. A passion for West Ham, Athletics, the London Stadium (or all 3!) would be a benefit but not essential.
