Onboard Learning and Development Officer - Fleet - Ship Based

As an Onboard Learning and Development Officer within the Human Resources team you will develop, deliver, and evaluate supervisory skills, behavioural skills and product and customer service training. You will identify learning needs, input into training needs analysis and support the design and development of fit for purpose training solutions. You will support the development of crew knowledge, skills and behaviours by using a range of training and development delivery methods and styles to promote and facilitate learning.

Within the role of Onboard Learning and Development Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of crew knowledge, skills and behaviours by using a range of training and development delivery methods and styles to promote and facilitate learning.

  • Collaborative working with ship and shore stakeholders to ensure that training needs are fully met and excellent standards of training are upheld to ensure high customer satisfaction.

  • Identifying learning needs, input into training needs analysis and support the design and development of fit for purpose training solutions.

  • Developing, delivering, and evaluating supervisory skills, behavioral skills and product and customer service training.

As an L&D officer, ideally we would love it if you had experience of delivering training within the Cruise or Hotel industry. Experience of presenting information to large and diverse audiences would also be advantageous. Previous experience with training delivery in supervisory skills, behavioural and product and service skills training would be a bonus. However, we believe in hiring people with the right attitudes and strengths over their competencies.

Within this role, part of your responsibility will be identifying training needs of the crew as well as supporting the design, development and execution of this training. Therefore, you will need to be naturally organised and good at prioritising; additionally you will thrive from high customer satisfaction, through ensuring excellent standards of training are upheld. As you will be facilitating and presenting any training needs to a diverse workforce you will need to be naturally great at communication and hold excellent interpersonal skills.
