The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa offers a fantastic opportunity to anyone looking to join a rapidly growing business with an ambition to be a significant landmark hotel. The 71 bedroom  4 AA star hotel also plays host to a wide array of activities on the 1400 acre estate which includes; a state of the art spa, a Shooting Ground (CPSA Premier standard), Falconry Centre, 4x4 Off-Road Experience, Fly-Fishing on the 24 acre lake or River Aire and Archery

The Huntsman’s Lodge and Macleod’s Restaurant and bar form the heart of the hotel and both offer a wide range of locally produced food. We offer excellent conference and meeting facilities forming the base of unique team building days. Weddings are also a significant part of our business. 

We are a family run hotel which is privately owned by the Bannister family, who are involved in the day to day running of the business. 

The existing 170 Coniston Hotel team are very customer centered and if you pride yourself on delivering excellent customer service then you will fit in well. 

ROLE OVERVIEW
As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for corporate account management as well as qualifying new business via telesales, hotel and estate tours and off site meetings where required. You will be self-motivated, driven and highly proactive in penetrating existing accounts and identifying new business opportunity. A passion for the product is vital and the right candidate will be confident, target driven, out-going and a team player.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business (70%):
• Identify and establish new corporate business opportunities focusing on selected locations/industry sectors
• Build excellent quality segmented data for relationship management and ensure all details are uploaded and accurate at all times in the CRM and appropriate sales activities set in a timely manner
• Take the leading role in exhibitions/events and client familiarization events
• Attend networking events and represent ‘the face’ of the hotel and estate
• Promote awareness of Coniston brand image internally and externally


Account Management (30%):
• Proactively manage top 25 corporate accounts and penetrate for year on year growth
• Conduct a post event follow up with each corporate event and re-secure/determine further future potential
• Optimise relationships with key agents and identify new opportunities


Targets:
• Meet and where possible exceed weekly tele-sales target
• Meet and where possible exceed weekly hotel and estate tour/offsite meeting target
• Meet and where possible exceed monthly new business targets
Other:
• Compile weekly sales activity report and attend monthly sales team meeting
• Compilation and execution of quarterly sales action plans as agreed with Sales & Marketing Manager and report at the monthly board meeting.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the hotel
• Keep up to date with business news and developments
• Motivate others within the hotel to instill ‘sales’ ethos

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Previous experience of proactive sales in the hospitality sector
• Proven track record of new business development and account management
• Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast moving environment
• Confidence, determination, professionalism and a welcoming personality
• Own transport is essential
