Senior Lifeguard - Edgbaston Priory Club, Birmingham

Reporting to: Assistant Operations Manager – Pool and Training

Full Time - 40 Hours 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lifeguard to join the Operations Team within The Edgbaston Priory Club. This private members club is now one of the premier racquets venues in the UK. With a range of facilities, the Edgbaston Priory Club offers a variety of activities for all ages. From fun family swim sessions and swimming lessons for children and adults to energetic aqua fit classes - there is something for everyone.

As a Senior Lifeguard you will be responsible for managing staff to deliver high customer service standards as well as supervising and promoting the safe and correct use of the indoor and outdoor swimming pool, and associated facilities (steam room, sauna, and spa pool). As well as assisting the running the pool department, you will also be a part of the duty management team overlooking site needs.

Key Duties:

• Providing support to the lifeguarding team
• Ensuring daily/weekly objectives are set and completed. Keeping in mind the high standards expected at the club
• The Senior Lifeguard will have responsibility for the safe and hygienic operation of the pool itself, including monitoring the levels of chemicals, heating and filtration.
• Ensuring all pool plant objectives are completed and water quality results recorded
• The Senior Lifeguard must advise members on the rules, regulations and safety procedures, and interact effectively with members to ensure that the pool facilities operate successfully
• Ensure that members, guests and visitors receive an efficient, friendly, consistent and personalised service on every visit
• Supervise all relevant areas whilst on shift and adhere to all Club standard operating procedures and bye-laws
• Working closely with the operations team, ensure that the club is safe for members use, and club standards are met.
• Provide assistance to all departments when acting as club duty manager

To be successful you will need to have experience of working within a leisure facility including swimming pool, spa, sauna and steam room, fully understand the importance of Health and Safety in regards to this job role, hold a relevant Lifeguard qualification, have knowledge of plant room operations and have experience as a Duty Manager.
