Purpose

As a kitchen porter, you will be required to complete the time-bound tasks in a kitchen including duties such as cleaning, washing up and basic food preparation.

First and foremost, your job is to keep the 5 star rated kitchen in restaurant neat and tidy. To help maintain high levels of service and assist with the smooth running of the kitchen by cleaning all kitchenware to the required standard and carrying out any cleaning duties. The importance of a good kitchen porter is vital to the function of our operation. Efficient porters can help the kitchen run smoothly because no matter how good the chefs are, 
service will be slow if there is a lack of clean dishes!  

The kitchen porter’s main duties include:

  • Carrying out basic cleaning tasks as fast as possible.
  • Collecting and washing up pots and pans.
  • Cleaning crockery & cutlery and ensuring food preparation sites are clean and ready.
  • Unloading equipment and food from deliveries.
  • Ensuring the storeroom remains organized.
  • Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitized after every service.
  • Bi-weekly Deep Clean of all cooking types of equipment, canopies, fridges and storage sections.
  • Basic food preparation such as peel potatoes or unwrap ingredients, occasionally prepare salads and some desserts.
  • Supporting the Head Chef on a regular basis to ensure compliance with HACCP.
  • Understanding Health and Safety at Work and to follow all procedures in this respect and report to management any hazardous situation or accident.

Daily Job Requirements:

  • Wash crockery and utensils
  • Daily clean of kitchen areas
  • Deep clean of kitchen equipment
  • Keep stores areas neat and tidy
  • Keep refrigeration and freezers organized
  • Report failing equipment to Supervisor
  • Report Health and Safety hazards to Supervisor
  • Communicate effectively with staff
  • Contribute to stock taking as required
  • Provide Porter support with deliveries
  • Provide porter support in all areas controlled by CHE
  • Accept training to enable safe completion of duties

Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Completing Restaurant Opening and Closing Checks/Procedures for HACCP compliances.

Meaning train track, Patri’s launch menu features dishes particularly inspired by the historic New Delhi Station and the great Marwar Junction known best as the point of departure for Rudyard Kipling’s The Man Who Would Be King: – “It all began at Marwar junction, three long summers and a thousand years ago.”
