Assistant Manager - The Skiddaw Hotel

The Role

We are looking for a hardworking, motivated and ambitious Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience combined with a strong knowledge of all departments with a particular emphasis on Restaurant, Bar and Reception.

As a key member of the team, you will support the General Manager in delivering the business plan, ensuring that targets are met and that opportunities for up-selling and generating additional revenue are maximised. Great leadership and customer service skills are a must as you will be responsible for delivering events to the highest standard and creating a great guest experience in the process. 

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing front of house operations in the bar and restaurant and reception
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop the team
  • Assist with appraisals with team members under your responsibility
  • Assist in setting departmental targets and objectives, wages, budgets, and policies and procedures
  • Accountable for monthly stock takes
  • Incentivise team members to maximize sales and revenue
  • Deputise for the General Manager in their absence
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, food safety and all health and safety legislation
  • Assist in all other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships

What we are looking for in you:

  • Previous F&B Management
  • Knowledge of reception, front office and reservations systems
  • Knowledge of Financial Systems
  • Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
