Role Title:               Leisure Sales Manager

Responsible for:    Membership Advisors

Reporting to:         Leisure Club Manager

Purpose of the Role:

    Your role is to deliver membership sales to agreed targets, sharing how good these facilities are with prospective new members and signing them up to a new way of life. You and this small team maximise leisure membership through effective lead generation and selling techniques, providing information as required and conduct confident and informed 121 sales tours. You achieve this by leading others to really deliver, providing high standards of service that reflect the individual needs of our members and prospective members – explaining the extensive features and benefits of joining our Leisure Club.

People – You have the right people in the right place at the right times. They’re trained and supported, using their natural talents to deliver beyond expectations. You instil and sustain a culture of excellence and motivate with appropriate levels of informality and fun, providing leadership, motivation and development. Taking into account employee welfare. You will drive the membership sales team to meet individual and team targets whilst supporting them in the achieving the weekly non –negotiable tasks. Presentation and standards - Operational standards to be the best they can possibly be regarding service, hygiene, health & safety and the teams presentation and uniform standards. Quality is your middle name. Ensure the leisure sales team are completing all necessary paperwork including membership application forms and direct debit forms etc… A Great Customer Experience – Focus on precise aims and requirements of potential members and offer advice to match the package to the individual. You cater for all and ensure that our people, products and service are memorable as we build our reputation as the Leading Leisure Club in the area. Product knowledge –Commercial ‘savvy’ and being aware of all promotional activities, to ensure they are correctly implemented.  Supporting centrally driven promotional activity. Communications – with your team on a daily basis, other hotel departments and guests / leisure club members, so that everyone knows what our offering is and is encouraged to try it and return for more. Complete a club walk round each day and communicate with Leisure Club Manager accordingly. Leisure Club Performance – you and the Leisure Memberships team support the Leisure Club team and contribute to overall hotel performance targets appropriately through demonstrating a sales driven passion with excellent margin and payroll control to deliver stretching but achievable budgets. Further, add value to overall hotel performance through teamwork.

Key Accountabilities

Results – rolling out a quarterly sales and marketing plan as agreed with the Leisure Club Manager, which will deliver new membership sales, membership category and income revenue targets. Quality – be fully aware of all promotional activities to ensure they are correctly implemented and actioned. Fully utilise the membership prospect database ensuring that the data is always accurate. Great Service – assist members and prospective members in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Member and guest satisfaction should be monitored using reflective feed back (ad hoc and using external benchmarking tools). Deal with complaints / problems politely and make every effort to resolve these. Customer Comments – review weekly feedback and action where required. Leadership – provide vision, motivate and evaluate individuals and the team. Role model our standards relentlessly. Your enthusiasm is infectious and catching! Management and development of talented people – Recruit, induct and train talented individuals. Day to day rotas, coaching & performance reviews, developing individuals to excel in their own role and have potential for career progression within Village. Communicate focus areas, targets, and updates. Financial performance – Focus on precise aims and requirements of potential members and offer advice to match the package to the individual. Fully adhere to the relevant sales systems and procedures. Deliver the clubs membership target and ensure sales standards are adhered to. Treat the business as if it where your own. Review leavers / arrears and Bacs information with both the Leisure Club Manager and Membership Secretary and action where required.

Statutory compliance including all Leisure Club related Health & Safety obligations and Licensing Laws. Be aware of and operate the hotel cash handling, security and emergency procedures.
