Commercial Finance Analyst – Business Partnering – Trading Finance

About the role:

Our Trading Finance team works closely with the General Merchandise (GM) Trading, Supply and Money and Mobile teams to support decision making as well as challenging and providing insight into all aspects of financial performance.

The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the trading plan through focus on sales activity and performance, active monitoring of margin and inventory, and working with trading teams to implement action plans where required. The Finance team also take the lead in identifying and delivering new projects and innovations working alongside Sourcing, Supply, Marketing and Space teams in moving the proposition forward.

The Ins and Outs:
  • Working alongside the GM Supply team to develop mid-long term optimisation plans. Using the output to agree and deliver the 1 year business plan
  • Delivering ad hoc commercial and operational analysis to support the delivery of each work stream within the optimisation project
  • Control of the weekly sales and inventory forecasting process. Working closely with all teams across GM to ensure inputs are accurate and can be clearly articulated
  • Running the monthly Supply performance forum, preparing insight into current performance and managing the risks and opportunities process
  • Ownership of business partnering the Money and Mobile team, supporting in strategy, financial planning and business case preparation
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Manager and trading teams on interpreting all areas relevant to commercial performance
  • What you’ll need:
    Part Qualified or Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)Being positive and proactive in trying to find more efficient ways to do thingsAbility to build and maintain strong customer relationshipsConfident and with the ability to challenge stakeholdersStrong analytical and communication skillsAdvanced Excel skillsWorking knowledge of PowerPointExperience of advanced analytical and visualisation software such as Alteryx and Tableau is helpful but not a requirement
