About the role:

We have a brilliant opportunity for an Events & Promotions Manager to join our team. You will drive strategy development for integrated planning and execution of Events and Promotions by aligning these to overall category and customer strategy. You will implement the integrated plans, improve the process and, track sales and profit goals. Your key relationships are with the following teams – trading, customer execution (modular planning, category planning & grocery home shopping), customer/ marketing, retail operations & supply.

The ins & outs:

-Develop and implement events and promotions strategy including communication objectives, aligned to the overall commercial plans by analysing past performance, customer and category plans, customer trends, competitor activities and category priorities
-Partner with cross functional stakeholders across all commercial categories (buyers and category planners, modular planners), customer, retail operations and supply chain to ensure execution of all events and promotions activities
-Accountable for end to end promo planning from setting the strategy to initiating the quarterly planning process, coordinating with traders on category promo plans, compiling all product nominations, creating the quarterly bibles and bulletins, coordinating for modulars, artwork, WAGJLL packs, finalising price and product descriptions, circulating barker lists to ensure timely implementation and tracking performance
-Coordinate with Supply for forecast review in line with promotion plan
-Enable category review of commercials, price points, images and customer offer for the promotion
-Strategise and plan for big box events – defining the categories involved, planning implementation, coordinating for proposition, commercial brief creation, communication on execution
-Communicate plan to stores and ensure any disconnects are escalated
-Ensure events and promo plans across all categories are aligned together and to the overall plans
-Responsible for the leadership of a team, maintaining the standards set out for all colleagues in the handbook and policies through role modelling and coaching up to the standard. Manage individual and team performance against role and objectives through talent and appraisal processes.
