Principal Hotels Edinburgh are looking for a sales star!

The Principal Edinburgh George Street has been welcoming hotel guests since 1881. At its heart are five listed Georgian townhouses, built in 1775 as homes for Edinburgh’s most prosperous citizens. Overlooking one of Edinburgh’s prettiest private garden squares, The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square — formerly The Roxburghe Hotel — consists of seven inter-connecting Georgian townhouses in the heart of the New Town, a UNESCO world heritage site.

What is the main purpose of the role?

Taking responsibility for achieving and exceeding the Banqueting revenue target for both Principal Hotels in Edinburgh. You will have structured sales plans for action with a focus on building long term, profitable client relationships to enable revenue, growth and retention. You’ll organise all sales activity for this market including sales appointments, events and site inspections.

On an annual basis, you will contribute to the Sales & Marketing plan for both properties; creating a target account list of customers to generate new business. Working closely with the Director of Sales, you’ll work to understand and identify where trough periods exist to put in place tactical sales activity to drive revenues into these specific months as appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with previous Sales experience with a proven sales track record in the events market.

You’ll need to be creative, think outside the box, and be intuitive about guest needs. Great written and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships at all levels.
