Customer Satisfaction & Expectation

  • Maintain develop and exceed guest satisfaction
  • Initiate and maintain rapport with customers
  • Assist with complaints were possible and resolve in conjunction with the Front Office/Operations Manager and /or General manager
  • Addresses and resolves questions or problems in relation to guest queries

Maintenance

  • Supervises and takes part in preventive and curative maintenance on Staycity premises and equipment
  • Promotes and contributes to setting up internal measures for the protection of the environment
  • Ensures the proper use of IPE by co-workers

Stock management

  • Manages stocks and purchasing of equipment and supplies for the department
  • Assists the General Manager in drawing up budgets for maintenance and capital investment

Relationship with service providers

  • Makes out orders to service providers in collaboration with the line manager, while keeping within the given budget
  • Approves work being performed and ensures that costs are reasonable and in line with budgets
  • Controls and monitors compliance with maintenance contracts

Safety

  • Is responsible for compliance with current safety procedures, and controlling the condition of the building, technical equipment and all safety and alarm systems in the apartments

Communication

  • Communicates necessary information to other departments and ensures that the line manager is kept informed of maintenance incidents
  • Trains colleagues in emergency trouble shooting procedures and ensures that safety procedures within the residence are communicated and kept up to date

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately
  • Is well updated on and possesses solid knowledge of the following:
  • Staycity fire, bomb and emergency procedures
  • Staycity health and safety policies and procedures

Information

  • Attend team meetings as required
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and enquires courteously and efficiently
  • Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to Staycity operations
  • Maintains own work area clean, tidy and in a safe manner; reports defective materials and equipment to appropriate person within the operation
  • Continuously seeks to endeavour and improve the department’s efficient operation and knowledge of own job function
  • Is well updated on and possesses solid knowledge of Staycity facilities, standards of operation, and brand and departmental procedures.

Person Specification

  • Attention to detail and ability to self-organise
  • Ability to communicate with all members of the team and guests
  • Previous knowledge of safety, health and the environment in similar environment (3 years)

Hours of Work:

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be required to work shifts covering weekends
