Lead Dance Coach - Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Academies of Sport offer creative dance academies in the school holidays, covering many genres of dance blending movement, music and improvisation.

We are looking for inspiring professional dance teachers/choreographers to take the performers through dance warm ups, energetic classes covering a variety of dance themes so that students come away with new moves and routines, culminating in an end of academy performance to showcase what they have learned.

Responsibilities

Lead Dance Coaches will be required to:

• Be responsible for ensuring the dance programme is delivered to a high standard
• Manage a small team of dance coaches to help deliver energetic sessions
• Choreograph and plan the end of academy performance
• Liaise with parents, providing feedback where appropriate
• Develop and progress sessions for the various ages and abilities
• Provide challenging content in a safe learning environment
• Analyse performance and suggest areas of improvement
• Show energy, a positive attitude and enthusiasm
• Have excellent knowledge in all aspects of your discipline

Requirements

• Highly experienced dance teacher / choreographer
• Ideally first aid qualified
• Experience teaching younger/beginner dancers and working with parents
• Able to deliver excellent structured sessions where all children are learning, developing, being stretched, challenged and having fun
• Excellent communication skills
• Approachable, patient, and above all, passionate about Dance!

• Dates: Work available in the school holidays: Half Terms, Easter and Summer
• Hours: 8:30 – 4:15pm
