Assistant Manager - Powerleague Barnet

Role Purpose

The purpose of the Assistant Manager role is to provide support to the General Manager looking after the team and ensuring the efficient operation of the centre with the aim of retaining and attracting new customers.

The Essence of the Role / Key Accountabilities

Operations

  • Proactively walk the site talking to your team and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues
  • Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the General Manager      
  •  Completion of daily/monthly duties i.e. cleaning order, drinks orders etc.
  • Undertaking the quarterly sales actions set out by the General Manager
  • Deal with all enquires in a professional and courteous manner, in person, on the telephone or via e-mail   
  • Performing sales tasks to create new business for the centre enabling the site to grow YOY and meet quarterly targets
  • Assist in administration and control of cash handling
  • Ensure stock levels at the bar and vending machines are maintained throughout the day

Customer

  • Deliver ‘World Class’ customer service at all times
  • Always be there to help, support your team to ensure that customer standards are always met
  • Role model giving great customer service and demonstrating empathy and understanding even in the most difficult situations
  • Fulfil all reasonable requests from customers to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety
  • Deal with challenging customers by demonstrating empathy and understanding even in the most difficult situations
  • Resolve customer complaints that have been escalated from the team in a calm, patient and polite manner

People

  • Manage and motivate the team to ensure all team members are engaged and meeting their objectives
  • Share your knowledge with your team
  • Recruitment, Training and Development of new members staff in line with Powerleague’s Recruitment and Induction procedure
  • Be involved and actively contribute at team meetings
  • Build and maintain good relationships with all team members
  • Be willing to take on jobs to balance the team workload

Finance

  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of weekly figures (YOY, WOW) to enable you to have a better understanding of the current business
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and pricing, to provide information to customers, on request, and maximising sales opportunities
