About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Online Assistant Merchandiser to join the George.com trading team, based at Asda House. The role will support the team in achieving sales and profit targets by planning stock and delivering balanced, timely and net profitable commercial ranges.

The ins & outs:

•Working in line with the category’s trading priorities, supporting the team with analysis for both the planning of next season ranges and optimising current ranges.
•Feeding into commercial discussions, assisting the team in beating sales and profit plans, by analysing data at the granular line level and ad hoc reporting.
•Activity and Event forecasting, planning and execution.
•Prepare and complete Event and Activity sell through trackers
•Tracking exit inventory at line level, ensuring stock is cleared in the most cost effective manner, flagging risks to planned budgets. Clear and actionable reporting for Non-movers, terminal stock and long stocks.
•Support Content team with item number swap correction and online availability.
•Update Planning files and sales reports for weekly sales meetings
•Supporting the team in delivery of critical path milestones.
•Develop an understanding of product lifecycle in select categories.
•Understanding market place and category’s place within this – Provide weekly competitor analysis focussing on Newness and Pricing.
•Adherence to one best way framework.

What you’ll need:

•A proven track record in a similar Merchandising Assistant/ Assistant Merchandiser/ Online Merchandiser or commercial/ trading/ buying role
