Circa £14,000 - £15,000 per annum (pro rata) / £7.38 - £7.83 per hour

About this role

Our Lifeguards are enthusiastic, responsible and hardworking individuals who supervise a wide variety of swimming sessions, maintain the centres’ high standards of cleanliness and assist with general day to day operations. They are one part of our amazing aquatics team that is made up of enthusiastic Apprentices, Lifeguards, and Swimming Teachers & Coaches, all of whom enable our customers to enjoy water-based activities in a fun and safe environment.

The Lifeguard role is a flexible one that can be taken on either full time or part time and alongside studies or another job, or as a part time job after retirement or whilst raising a family, it could even be a short term job between further education or travelling! Lifeguarding can also be a stepping stone towards a career in the leisure industry; many of our team have progressed into other areas of the business and management roles over time.

To work as a Lifeguard you’ll need to have a Lifeguard qualification, for example the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) but we pride ourselves on developing our people so if you are interested in this opportunity but don't have a relevant qualifications don't worry – apply anyway and we’ll let you know more about gaining a lifeguard qualification through us. Recruitment for this role:

If you’re already qualified, once you’ve applied you’ll be contacted by one of our pools where a member of the team will ask you to come in for a practical interview. This allows you to try the job to make sure you like it and means we can see if you can actually do the role. You’ll also be booked onto a competency assessment where you’ll have to demonstrate your lifeguarding skills and knowledge are at the standard required by the RLSS.
