Productivity Team Support - Welwyn Garden City

The Productivity team is comprised of 16 regional Productivity managers, and an office based team of 3 Retail industrial engineers, a data analyst, project manager and team support role

We form part of the Operations Development team in the Retail Channels function. Every change to store operations and routines the UK business makes comes through our team for validation, measurement, change to stores hours/schedules and then executed with support of the regional team



Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the roles key responsibilities and measures:

Productivity models

  • I own a number of small dept productivity models, which I maintain, improve and apply changes to.

I support the productivity team with

  • Quarterly model updates (load files, profile changes, pulled stores, accuracy checks
  • Flexing operating model changes to store payroll budgets
  • Process mapping and model specification / documentation changes
  • Operating model / ideal base/schedule queries
  • Keep team work plan up to date
  • Deviation /variation reporting/analysis
  • Productivity kpi reporting
  • Operating model process /optimisation data analysis
  • Scheduling accuracy insight/analysis
  • Provision of supporting op model data for change launches with BFMs
  • Facilitating productivity manager meetings and conf calls with agendas /next steps
  • This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first.

Youll need to have demonstrated experience / knowledge of:

  • Stores productivity model / ideal schedules or store operations
  • Root cause analysis/ able to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Intermediate level Excel skills
  • Strong numerical and logical thinking ability
  • Comfortable with complex process mapping
  • Able to translate complex data into a simple message to stakeholders

Personal

  • Flexibility, ability to plan and organise, responsiveness, creativity, self-starter
  • Able to build solid working relationships with peers and senior leadership
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the retail function
  • An interest in gaining a full retail industrial engineer qualification
