Bar Supervisor - Heathrow, London

Reports to: Lounge Supervisor

Summary of Position:

As a Bar Supervisor, you will oversee the smooth operation of the bar facilities and team, being responsible for stock take and ordering, amongst other duties such as monitoring and motivating your team through busy services. It is essential that you deliver an excellent Guest experience. The ideal candidate will be an excellent and confident communicator and a true ambassador of excellent service. As Supervisor you will have a natural ability to support a successful team, and have a wealth of the beverage knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To be involved in the setting of the Bar targets and objectives, and to monitor and strive for their achievement;
  • To be commercially aware in order to continuously drive the business forward;
  • To be proactive in maximising sales and generating revenue;
  • To input new ideas for service and products to maintain competitive and leading edge;
  • To compile required statistics/reports;
  • To ensure the implementation of procedures concerning recording of stock movements e.g. correct charging of items, billing;
  • To ensure stock items behind the bars are always within expiry date;
  • To oversee cash and stock control consistently according to company policy;
  • To ensure mise-en-place are prepared according to Bars standards;
  • To ensure guest drinks are prepared and served according to company standards;
  • To monitor, anticipate and react to customer needs consistently to ensure maximum guest satisfaction;
  • To take prompt action to resolve complaints according to company policy;
  • To build positive relationships with clients/guests to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • To ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout the bars;
  • To coach individual team members to develop their skills and maximise performance;
  • To give clear direction and guidelines to team members;
  • To undertake any other duties as and when required by Senior Management

Qualifications / Essential Skills:

  • Possess exceptional IT skills to enable you to complete cash up duties and maintain the Stock control;
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role, supporting the Management in leading the team to deliver on sales targets whilst providing exceptional service to every guest;
  • Maintain outstanding attention to detail, encouraging high standards of service throughout the team;
  • Understand the need to maintain a safe working environment taking care of the team and our guests;
  • Good wine and drinks knowledge;
  • Previous experience in a similar food & Beverage environment;
  • Food and wine knowledge;
  • Business awareness;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Complaint handling and Problem resolution;
  • Fluent written and verbal English

Customer Service:

  • It is everyone’s responsibility to follow the Plaza philosophy and ensure that every guest leaves satisfied.
  • Your shifts will be agreed with your manager based on your contract of employment
