Duty Manager - Reading

Role: Duty Manager/ Lead Coach

Line Managed by: Club Manager

Principal Tasks: Lead and develop the coaching team in day to day operations within the centre, mentoring and supporting the team to deliver outstanding and engaging sessions whilst ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures written in the Employee Handbook and Employee Safety Handbook are adhered to by everyone
  • Assist the Club Manager to ensure there is an adequate amount of coaching staff for class delivery
  • Ensure all coaches are fully qualified and frequently mentored, ensuring their coaching in alignment to their safety and child welfare training
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and direction to all staff and coaches
  • Assist in training needs and all development activities of coaches
  • Create and delegate daily responsibilities within the coaching team
  • Take a lead in developing class or session delivery and structure
  • Plan and deliver fun and safe Gymnastics/ Ninja sessions, helping all participants reach their potential and learning goals
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facilities for a great customer experience
  • Support members and prospects with any queries, handling any feedback professionally and appropriately.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times to both members and prospects
  • Participate and contribute to regular staff meetings
  • Support in conducting weekly club safety checks and report all defects that you are not able to rectify
  • Help to create an environment where all employees enjoy themselves whilst at work and make a real contribution to the success of the club and business as a whole
  • Support the delivery of the sales plans to advertise and promote the club to increase membership and revenue. This may include (but not limited to) outreach events, door2door, hand2hand as well as in club events
  • Contribute to the achievement of monthly sales/Net gain target
  • Open and close the site as required by your weekly rota
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties/ projects/ meetings, which may be required from time to time

Applicants will need

  • Previous experience leading a team in gymnastics or parkour
  • Coaching experience within gymnastics or parkour, ready to take on more responsibility
  • Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others
  • To enjoy working with and developing children
  • Confidence leading small and large groups
  • Confidence liaising with parents and members
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The desire to learn and develop within the role
  • Initiative and leadership skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Teamwork
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
