Internationally acclaimed Taiwanese Brand Din Tai Fung will be opening its inaugural restaurant in the UK in 2018, and is looking for talented individuals to pioneer this initiative.

Have a passion for culinary arts? As a Junior Sous Chef, you will join a dedicated team of F&B professionals in the Hot Kitchen, serving up world famous Taiwanese signatures.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Senior Sous Chef in leading the hot kitchen and ensuring smooth running of the daily kitchen activities
  • Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
  • Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
  • Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
  • Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
  • Works with Senior Sous chef to maintain kitchen organisation
  • Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
  • Coordinates with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing

Educational Qualification/ Experience / Skills and Competencies Requirements:

  • Certificate in F&B /BTEC HND in professional cookery preferred
  • Certificates in Health and Safety/ Food Hygiene preferred
  • Minimum5 years’ experience in similar role

  • High organisation skills and ability to multitask
  • High level of personal hygiene
  • Team player
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a bonus
