Commercial Cost Coordinator
About the role:
Our Property and Construction department proactively manage Construction, Estates and Property projects from inception to completion. Our department covers all aspects of Market Evaluation, Design, Cost, Financial Appraisal, Implementation and Maintenance. We pride ourselves on delivering quality schemes on time and within budget. We are currently recruiting a Commercial Cost Coordinator within the Central Cost Team based at our Head Office in Leeds. The role will involve the management of Capital Expenditure on all new and existing space projects across Property and Construction whilst also ensuring that ASDA is obtaining best value through the procurement of main and subcontractors.
The ins and outs:
•Setting the Commercial Strategy for the procurement of Contractors and Subcontractors
•Ensure allocations to the Supply Chain are providing best value and rewarding strong performance
•Sign-off of project costs at agreed commercial gateways
•Checking contracts, orders, warranties COPs, POPs and contractual letters
•Cost estimating, capex and cashflow forecasting
•Reporting on cost, capex and benchmarking against competitors and the general market
•Ensure Audit and Governance compliance
•Model and life cycle costing
•Working with both the internal and external Legal teams to resolve any contractual issues and queries
•General management of External Professional Quantity Surveyors and key consultants
What you’ll need:
This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our existing team.
The role would suit a proactive team player who is known for taking responsibility for providing a high standard of support across multiple functions and key stakeholders. The right candidate will be hardworking, highly motivated, organised, proficient timekeeper that is comfortable communicating internally and externally at all levels. Due to the sensitive nature of the information within the department, confidentiality is of the upmost importance.
Ideally you will have experience of the construction and real estate industry; however, this is not essential as in-house training will be provided. The successful candidate may be required to undertake Construction related courses.
