Join our vibrant team as we launch our new Church Street Aparthotel in Manchester, Piccadilly! We're looking for skilled, enthusiastic workers to join our great team for our new opening in September. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be the first line of response to maintenance issues on all types of M&E equipment including pumps, motors, electrical controls and panels.
  • To carry out basic handyman duties, such as putting up pictures, changing bulbs etc.
  • To report all completed jobs and any outstanding tasks to the Maintenance Manager / Hotel Manager as appropriate.
  • To be aware of any hazards or faults and rectify where possible or escalate to second line response keeping the Maintenance Manager at all times.
  • To supervise the work of external contractors whilst on site as and when required.
  • To carry out weekly fire alarm testing to ensure systems are in good working order.
  • To carry out weekly walk rounds of all communal and exterior areas of Supercity’s aparthotels to identify any potential issues.
  • Production of a weekly maintenance report.
  • To update room conditions on the Opera management system.
  • When necessary carry out maintenance work to Supercity’s other rental investment properties.
  • To participate in emergency call outs in order to provide 24 hour maintenance cover.
  • To contribute maintenance projects as and when required including re-developments and refurbishments.
  • To provide in-house expertise to the contractors on site i.e. electrical supply, water supply etc.
  • To undertake other duties and tasks that from time to time may be allocated to the jobholder that are appropriate to (the grade of) the job.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education/Qualifications/Training:

Required

GCSE or equivalent English Language and Maths at grades A-C

Basic Health & Safety knowledge

Desired

City & Guilds level 1,2 or 3 in electrical, plumbing or carpentry

Skills in carpentry, electrics or painting

Health & Safety qualification

Certificate in Legionella

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:

Required

Broad experience in a hotel maintenance role

Some ability to read M&E drawings

Basic MS Office skills

Some experience of working at height

Ability to undertake manual handling tasks
