Commercial Finance Business Partner – George trading
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to be based in from our George House office based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
Our Clothing Finance team business partner the trading function to provide commercial analysis and support to maximise business performance.
The vacancy is to support the George retail sales development team, retail field team and trading team. You will be working within a fast paced and dynamic environment, managing a wide network of commercial and operational stakeholders.
You will be responsible for understanding and driving improvements in the commercial performance, stimulating strategic decision making, driving financial discipline, processes and accountability and supporting in delivery of Asda’s strategic pillars.
The Ins and Outs;Collaborate with the operational teams to build business cases and critically evaluate proposals for capital spend on projects such as store format redesign, changes to product flow, radio frequency tagging Produce effective post investment appraisal on trials and capex spendDrive analytics at a store/regional level using tools such as APT Develop best practice for understanding commercial performance vs. control storesManage delivery of the 2018 £35m plan for ‘Other Margin Costs’ in partnership with the trading leadership, challenging where appropriate to ensure that targets are metIdentify opportunities to reduce costs and increase visibility of spend on areas such as royalties, 3rd party storage, airfreightStrengthen performance management across the George.com P&L through improved forecast accuracy building robust business plans
What you’ll need;Strong analytical capabilities coupled with successful business partnering, identifying issues/opportunities and obtaining mutual agreement as to the resolution and implement changesAbility to build and maintain exceptional customer relationshipsProactive with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholdersGood commercial awarenessAbility to effectively prioritise and manage workload, meeting tight deadlinesCandidates will ideally be a CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualifiedIntermediate to Advanced Excel Desire to gain experience in a retail environment
