The role of Optometrist reports directly to the Customer and People Trading Manager/ Customer Trading Manager. The Optometrist Manager is accountable for the KRA’s of the Optical Manager and those of the Optometrist. They will Coach and train Colleagues to complete Step-In modules along with delivering the Merchandising and operational standards within the Optical Department. They will review performance and Coach and engage with Colleagues to deliver continuous improvement and outstanding service to our Customers. The Optical Manager’s responsibility is to work within the Legal and SOP guidelines and role models the ASDA behaviours and bring to life the ASDA culture.

The ins and outs
You’ll provide an outstanding clinical service – from eye tests to contact lens fitting You’ll also maintain an exceptional standard of customer care Take full responsibility for inspiring and coaching your colleagues Fulfil duties as a member of the store leadership team, taking responsibility for the delivery of day to day operational standards within the department. This includes Trading Law compliance colleague engagement and communicationImprove the capability of the team by coaching, training and developing colleagues to drive performanceResponsible for delivery of KRA's to targetProvide strong leadership which role models Asda beliefs and demonstrates cultural awarenessCommunication with Customer and People Trading Manager and monthly meeting to review performance, share success and plan for opportunities
What you’ll need:
You’ll need to be registered with the General Optical Council as a fully qualified Optometrist And be on track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continued Education & Training (CET)
