This role provides primary support to the Group Head of Technical Accounting. The Technical team sits within Group Finance and is responsible for maintaining the Groups accounting policies, and providing training and technical accounting advice to finance teams worldwide, covering the UK, Europe and Asia. The team also supports the accounting for major transactions and new IFRS developments

Given the Group-wide focus of the role, the incumbent will obtain a truly global understanding of the Groups operations and financial processes, together with significant exposure to key finance management.

• To provide technical advice on accounting queries and partner with strategic departments to provide advice on complex transactions to the finance community. Preparation and review of accounting papers supporting treatment of key transactions.
• Preparing and assisting in the presentation of training on technical updates and key accounting topics to finance teams
• Performing analysis on new standards, exposure drafts and other reporting requirements; identifying the potential impacts and helping update the Groups accounting policies
• Supporting the preparation of Group and statutory financial statements and press releases relating to the half-year and year-end annual reports and accounts.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• Big 4 Technical/audit experience
• Strong background in IFRS knowledge and application
• Technically minded and commercial acumen
• Strong communication and influencing skills
