Commercial Finance Manager – Fresh Food Trading

About the role:

The Food Trading and Marketing team business partner the various functions within Trading and Marketing to provide commercial analysis and support.

The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through detailed category analysis, focused P&L control and holding teams to account on Sales, GP, Waste, Working capital and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)/Price investment initiatives.

The vacancy is in the Food Trading Finance team as commercial finance support for the Fresh Food Trading teams.
This is a varied role that supports the Fresh Trading Vice President and the Commercial teams that are part of his remit and to be successful you will need to build strong relationships with the teams you will be supporting.

You will be responsible for understanding and driving improvements in the commercial performance, stimulating strategic decision making, driving financial discipline, processes and accountability and supporting the relevant trading priorities.

The Ins and Outs:
Driving delivery of the 2018 plan in partnership with the Fresh Vice President and Senior Director’sProviding guidance to help mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunitiesInterpreting and communicating trends within financial dataIdentifying opportunities to improve sales/profitabilityStrengthen performance management across the trading KRA through improved financial control, insight and analysisManagement of Fresh Trading Capex – Supporting in building business cases and assessing trials with potential to roll out Price Investment – Supporting the teams to progress price investment agenda including supporting in the link between trading and the pricing teamCost Of Goods Sold – Support the teams in identifying and capturing savings
What you’ll need:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)Ability to build and maintain exceptional customer relationshipsConfident and pro-active with the ability to challenge senior stakeholdersStrong analytical and communication skillsGood commercial awarenessAn ability to influence at a senior level
