Events & Banqueting Chefs - Events Kitchen - Southwark, London

Reporting to: Events Head Chef

Contracted hours: 48 hrs p/w

The Events Kitchen Team are the epicentre of Mondrian London. They serve several different outlets within the property including In-Room Dining, our rooftop bar Rumpus Room and function rooms. With a lively team and bustling environment, our reinvention of the traditional hotel kitchen is the perfect backdrop to master new skills and advance your career.

Head Chef Anbu is currently recruiting for Events Chefs at all levels to join his team. If you’re looking for a hard working team who will always have your back, this is the kitchen for you! Commis Chef

  • Previous experience in a public contact position, kitchen or other high volume environment would be an advantage.
  • You must have good interpersonal and communication skills, even when the pressure’s high!
  • Prepare the mise-en-place for the kitchen to the standards set by the Head Chef/Sous Chef.
  • Liaise with the Sous Chef at all times to produce the highest culinary standards.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate use of produce and equipment in and around the kitchen.
  • Maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all departments

Chef de Partie

  • You’ll need previous experience in a CDP or Demi CDP role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills and open to working in several different areas simultaneously.
  • The ability to keep a level head, even when the pressure goes up.
  • To be able to multitask and work efficiently in a high pressure environment.
  • Check all mis-en-place prepared by Commis Chefs and food stocks.
  • Manage sections within the kitchen and assist Sous Chefs with the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Junior Sous

  • You’ll be an experienced CDP or Junior Sous, used to working in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude, even in a high pressure environment.
  • Willing to learn and develop new skills and open to working in several different areas simultaneously.
  • To oversee all sections of the kitchen and ensure productivity in all areas.
  • Supervise and guide new starters and deliver training where required.
  • Have an awareness of the events and functions happening within the hotel and ensure the accurate and consistent food quality of all dishes.
