Lead Product Manager - Customer Order, Single Basket and Extended Range

The position will be based at our Technology Office, Whitefield, Bengaluru.



Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the roles key responsibilities and measures:

  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across the group to understand their needs and concerns, and to drive a single product strategy and execute globally for the:
  • Extended Range space
  • Customer Order and Single Basket space
  • Define and execute a product vision and strategy that enables customers to find and select the products that they want to purchase and have them fulfilled in the most convenient way for them
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and Heads of Product to ensure that APIs are appropriately scoped and together meet the overall vision for the API Platform
  • Define Objectives and Key Results and track them to measure performance against business outcomes
  • Drive experiments against defined hypotheses, create Prototypes and MVPs towards robust data-driven decisions on product improvements and their influence on product performance indicators
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of Product Managers, giving them the opportunities to grow their skills and develop their careers
  • Work with Engineering teams to align Product and Technical strategies
  • Remove impediments faced by the team
  • Take the lead in all matters related to the management of relevant employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows best practice policies and procedures
  • Ownership of the development or improvement of multiple capabilities in the Customer Order, Single Basket and Extended Range space that will meet defined business outcomes
  • Collaborates with other Product Managers in the Customer Order API Domain, and other API Domains, to build the strategic roadmap for replacing legacy functionality with the features in the appropriate APIs.
  • Influences other Product Managers to prioritise dependencies appropriately
  • Accountable for the performance of their legacy applications and drives reliability and stability improvements to optimise performance for the business and to minimise the support overhead
  • Creation and measurement of the core Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Business Metrics that underpin the legacy applications, and understands the business impact of the KPIs being missed
  • Agree operational process principles and implement any changes to the operational processes to enable quicker resolution of issues affecting our business
  • Understand key user personas, customers and stakeholders and their pain points really well
  • Effectively document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests
  • Work with engineering counterparts to scope out Epics and Stories and help them to break them down into tasks that deliver maximum business value in least effort
  • Lead experiments and discovery work against defined hypotheses, create Prototypes and MVPs towards robust data-driven decisions on product improvements and their influence on product performance indicators
  • Provide leadership and direction to cross functional teams on short-term tasks / near-term priorities
  • Drive the acceptance and adoption of ideas and improvements with product and engineering stakeholders
  • Provide support and coaching to junior Product Managers as well as peers
  • Prioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues independently
