Job Details

We're looking for Lifeguards to help with our women-only swim sessions at Kensington Leisure Centre in Notting Hill, West London. Many of our centres are in culturally diverse locations and we run female-only swim sessions to accommodate the needs of the communities in the area.

Building on our continued growth, we're now the UK's largest leisure provider and the first leisure social enterprise - and set for even greater success. If you have the talent and passion to join us as a Lifeguard, there's never been a more exciting time to progress with a sector leader. This is more than a Lifeguard job - it can be a career for those who want it, or a great way to earn extra money working a desired amount of shifts each week. Professional development is just the start. To ensure you stay at the top of your game, we provide training with practical and theory elements too.

Pool safety can't be underestimated - and neither can the responsibility that comes with this vital lifeguarding role. Our scale means we can also offer scope to progress, and variety like nowhere else - from regular pool rotations, supervising and cleaning the pool area, to setting up equipment and delivering a first-class customer service when dealing with queries. Do your job well, and there shouldn't ever be an emergency. But if the unexpected should happen, you'll be equipped with the skills to potentially save a life.

If you're calm under pressure, highly responsible and a natural with people from all walks of life (especially with our women-only swim sessions), this is your chance to develop as a Lifeguard. We look for integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will also stand you in good stead, combined with knowledge of health and safety legislation and a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. A great team player, you'll make sure our customers have the best possible experience - in terms of enjoyment, safety and hygiene.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Ride to work scheme
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications, age and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
