Stage Manager - Fleet - Ship Based

We are currently looking for an experienced Stage Manager to join our exciting and fast paced company. The role will be to assist the Assistant Manager Production (AMP) in the effective operational delivery of the ship’s stage management systems and providing support to the overall success of the entertainment production.

 

Primary Responsibility of the Role:

 

  • Provide technical support for a variety of day and night shows, cabaret acts, musical programmes and other events as directed by the Assistant Manager Production and Production Manager.
  • Assist the Assistant Manager Production with the operation of automation equipment as directed and attend rehearsals for allocated shows. Ensure all equipment is maintained and functional, reporting any faults or repairs as necessary. Clean and test production equipment as directed. Follow work schedules and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with all current safety and company regulations. Complete accurate maintenance and equipment records.
  • Instruct Deputy Production Technicians and Stage Crew on their day to day tasks and activities and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with all current safety and Company regulations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant industry qualification in stage management / automation or relevant work experience
  • Proven experience of working within a live theatre environment, preferably on a variety of shows
  • Previous experience of supervising others is desirable
  • Basic operational and set-up knowledge of Audio Visual equipment
  • Experience of working with stage management systems
  • Experience of working in large venues on a variety of entertainment programmes i.e. concert, theatre and individual acts desirable
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety within production
  • Good command of written and spoken English
