We have a unique opportunity for an Architectural Technician to support the existing team within Signature Living.

Signature Living Ltd is a fast paced Hospitality & Property Development company which currently operates 5 Hotels and several apartment complexes in the heart of Liverpool City Centre including 30 James Street – The Home of The Titanic and The Shankly Hotel.

In 2016 Signature Living opened its first Residential Complex just outside of Liverpool City Centre and have subsequently developed further properties for rentals which include apartments, office space and gymnasiums.

Boasting a further 3 Restaurants, 3 Bars, 4 Weddings & Events Venues and a Spa, Signature Living plans to expand its flourishing and unique hospitality aesthetic outside of Liverpool in 2018 to locations such as Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast & Preston.

The successful candidate will be involved across a variety of projects at one time, and will be responsible for managing and working alongside our in-house team of built environment professionals including Town Planners, QS’s structural engineers, fire officers etc.

The role offers exciting opportunities for an individual with strategic development experience, technical design ability and contract administration skills across all RIBA Work Stages.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • MCIATqualified (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in residential, commercial and hospitality projects, covering design and construction
  • Strong past in dealing with complex listed buildings in sensitive areas
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-moving environment.
  • Developing the design of projects from initial concept through working drawings to completion
  • Detailed understanding of UK Planning and Building Regulations
  • Excellent technical and construction knowledge
  • Experience attending site meetings and assessing services and requirements of new sites
  • Good organisation skills and job running abilities are essential
  • Confident liaising with contractors and subcontractors
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD (2018)

Our ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in residential, commercial and hospitality sectors across the UK and internationally
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent data management skills
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Experience of working on international projects would be beneficial
  • Adaptable and flexible to change
  • Willing to travel to visit new sites around the UK for meetings
  • Full UK driving license will be required. Access to and use of a car would be advantageous but not essential. Mileage will be paid for on a pre-agreed rate.
  • Can provide technical solutions / Problem solving
  • Can provide design sketches, specifications and write reports as required
