Optical Commercial Manager
About the role:
As the Optical Commercial Manager you will be involved in all elements of running a busy and complex business unit within Asda.
The ins and outs:Ownership of the Optical P&LManage relationships and commercial contracts with suppliersAccountability for all Optical product range buying supported by an Optical BuyerLead and coach the Optical team to deliver the team’s objectivesWork closely with key stakeholders including Compliance and MarketingInfluence at all levels across the businessIdentify key opportunities for cost savings and turn these into activity plans to deliverDevelop continual efficiency and cost improvement plans internally and with supply baseProvide insight and category information across multiple forums to ensure representation within the wider businessKeep up to date with eyewear trends and fashionSupport the Senior Leadership with defining the strategic directionRaise the profile of the category within the business
What you’ll need:Strong commercial acumenCross functional working and ability to successfully influence at all levelsTenacity and resilienceProblem solvingLeadership and coaching as well as direct line managementAn ability to manage complexity and cut to the heart of an issue quicklyBeing comfortable working with numbersAdaptability and confidence in dealing with new and unfamiliar situationsAn ability to manage multiple things at onceBuying experience and an ability to flex your buying styleOptical Buying experience would be ideal but not essential
