IT Support Technician - Bristol

Full-time, Permanent

Butcombe Brewery is looking to recruit an experienced IT professional to work as part of a team providing prompt, user-focused support to our team.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with a range of software applications as well as maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of different devices, including PCs, tablets, printers and basic network devices.

A flexible approach to work is also required as you may occasionally be required to work evenings and/or weekends in order to support our needs.

Previous experience and excellent references in a similar role and a clean driving license together with the need to read and write English are essential.

An on-going training program will be provided and a competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:

  • Visit and survey new businesses as required for the provision of EPOS, Wi-Fi, Telecoms, sound systems etc.
  • Installation, testing and configuration of PDQ terminals.
  • Planned and regular maintenance of all on-site business systems equipment.
  • Provide site with any additional information or training. Advise users on basic operation of equipment
  • Monitoring of calls placed with third party engineers ensuring they are completed within SLA and chase as required.
  • Provide the Business Systems Manager with regular updates on progress, details of any other relevant issues, or further action to be taken.
  • Diagnose and/or repair faults in all company locations as required, escalate fault resolution or replace equipment as required.
  • Liaise during installations to ensure complete working data sets on EPOS terminals.
  • Provide exceptional cover on evenings and weekends if required.
  • Manage provision of mobile phones and IT equipment, raising orders with suppliers.
  • Background knowledge in computer hardware (pc's, tablets, IP networks and WIFI)
  • The ability to provide 5 years of continuous past work history and satisfactory references.
  • Clean driving licence is essential.
  • PC literate (all MS Office suite) and aptitude to pick up new software packages quickly.
  • Planning and organisational skills; able to establish efficient and appropriate plans for self and others and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst still ensuring objectives are met.
  • Customer service; understands and responds to user needs (internal and external) and exceeds expectations where possible.
  • Communication and team working; works co-operatively with others to achieve a common goal and communicates information in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • Problem solving and decision making; analyses information appropriately in order to find best solutions and takes a balanced view to reach logical conclusions and make relevant decisions.

PREFERRED

  • EPoS background beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of maintaining and installing EPoS equipment.
  • 3 years or more experience in a field based customer service engineering role, ideally in the hospitality/leisure industry
  • Knowledge of ERP systems

Required licence or certification:

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Ability to read write fluent English
