Spa Therapist - York, North Yorkshire

The Spa Therapist is the link role providing assistance to the Spa Operations Manager in full operational delivery of the treatment menu to the highest technical and service standards. The role assists in organizing and representing the Spa Therapy team as well as providing support to the Spa Operations Manager in daily operations.

Duties to include:

  • To ensure that all guests are warmly and positively welcomed and that every thing is done to nurture their relaxation, comfort and enjoyment in the spa.
  • To ensure that the impression of the spa created either on the telephone or in person leaves a lasting positive impression- providing a role model for the spa team.
  • To provide a service culture that proactively manages complaints to ensure service recovery.
  • To assist and participate in a training and development programme to ensure full competence in the treatment menu, product knowledge, sales protocols and spa operations of the and spa team.
  • To up-sell spa services and retail products individually and with the Spa Therapy team to meet personal and budgetary targets by
  • Assisting in documented training of the spa team in retail and professional product knowledge and sales protocols
  • In situ coaching as required.
  • Assisting in the implementation of incentives and sales targets.
  • To ensure all professional stock is always available and assist in stock checking, Implementing the effective management of a profitable and secure stock control system.
  • To advise on minimum stock quantities and assist in the timely ordering of replacement product
  • To monitor the use of products within treatments to maximise profitability
  • To assist in the trade testing for therapy applicants as requested by the Spa manager.
  • To assist in the induction of all new therapy recruits as requested by the Spa manager.
  • To assist and participate in recognition programmes for achievement within the team.
  • To promote a structured positive working environment that encourages team retention.
  • To communicate in a positive and constructive manner with all working colleagues and clients ensuring a co-operative team effort in the daily operations.
  • To set a high personal standard of presentation and assist in monitoring the grooming, presentation and uniforms of the therapy team.
  • To conduct the treatment menu on all clients consistently to the highest standards as specified ensuring positive feedback and client retention
  • To monitor and ensure consistent specified standards of technical and service delivery of the treatment menu by the therapy team
  • In situ coaching of the team in use of the standards
  • Quality control of specified standards.
  • Appropriate actions to follow up guest feedback
  • To always ensure that optimum levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the treatment rooms and spa are maintained at all times.
  • To ensure all treatments are prepared for effectively in a timely manner with all equipment, linen, and product available organised and ready to hand in the treatment room.
